Volunteer with Carers Northumberland’s fundraising team
...and develop your skills, meet new people and make a difference to the lives of carers in Northumberland.
There are a number of ways you could volunteer with Carers Northumberland’s fundraising team:
1 Event volunteering
We always need reliable volunteers for our events, doing tasks such as setting up the event, selling raffle tickets, auction spotting, directing people to seats, handing out information or looking after specific elements of the event. See our fundraising events page for upcoming events or get in touch with us on Fundraising@carersnorthumberland.org.uk
2 Regular office/home volunteering
Volunteers working in our office (or from home) on either a specific project or on administration will help us to achieve more in our fundraising. It will also help you to develop new skills that will be transferable for seeking employment. We do ask anyone wanting to volunteer in this way to commit to at least half a day a week and also to at least 2 months of volunteering.
3 Carers Northumberland fundraising ambassadors
This is a great role for someone who is looking to develop their public speaking skills, or someone who particularly enjoys public speaking. You will attend fundraising events to thank supporters and give them information about Carers Northumberland. You may also be asked to attend local rotaries/WI and other meetings.
4 Business ambassador
Carers Northumberland are looking for well connected people to help us build our profile in the local business community, giving us advice, direction and door openers to businesses across the county.
5 Collection volunteer
You can help us by either collecting on one of our collection days (ie a bagpack or sports ground collection) or by putting out and collecting in goblets in your local area. This is a crucial way of Carers Northumberland building its profile and raising money.
6 Organise your own fundraising event
See our Fundraise for us/host your own event page.
7 Set up your own fundraising committee
If you would like to fundraise for Carers Northumberland throughout the year with a group of friends or colleagues this is a great way of doing this, providing structure and giving roles such as Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, which will also be great skills to develop for employment.
For more information on any of these roles or if you have any questions please contact us on Fundraising@carersnorthumberland.org.uk or on 07825 952609
